Back In Time: Mrs. Olive Egbers left her mark on the early days of Fremont County

Born in 1875 in Missouri, Egbers moved to Ca'on City with her family, which had moved to the area in the 1870s, as her father, Jesse R. Wright, sought permanent relief from his asthma. Ca'on City was just the ticket with its warm, dry weather, and Egbers remained in the area for the rest of her life. "Mrs. Egbers likes to tell of their arrival. There were three other children besides her. They had been suffering from attacks of influenza " then called la grippe " and two of the children had whooping cough," read a Daily Record article from 1961.
